Laos REDD+ Feasibility with Lao PDR Government
Objective: Agricapita aims to support sustainable forest management and reduce deforestation in Lao PDRthrough the REDD+ initiative. The objective is to assess feasibility and implement projects thatconserve forests, reduce emissions, and promote sustainable land use while fostering economicgrowth.
Scope: The REDD+ feasibility study evaluates the potential for forest conservation, emission reductions,and sustainable land use; aligns with REDD+ goals to combat deforestation; assesses social,economic, and environmental viability; and develops collaborative strategies with stakeholders toensure long-term sustainability.
Contribution/Activities/Result: Agricapita focuses on community engagement through consultations, equitable benefit-sharing,and strong local partnerships. It secures a 30-year MoU with the Forest Department, conductscredible feasibility studies using advanced methodologies, and collaborates with internationalexperts and local NGOs. The project develops REDD+ initiatives meeting CCBA and VCSstandards to achieve premium market pricing and establishes long-term ERPAs for financialstability.
Result: The project delivers a robust framework for REDD+ implementation, enhancing forestconservation, reducing emissions, engaging communities, and securing sustainable revenuethrough verified carbon credits. It serves as a benchmark for balancing environmental integritywith socio-economic development.
