📘 Project Overview
This project is part of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Special Initiative “Transforming Agricultural and Food Systems” (TAFS). Under this initiative, Agricapita Innotech Private Limited is supporting GIZ India and MANAGE in developing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Natural Farming. The course aims to provide high-quality, accessible education on agroecological principles to a wide spectrum of learners, from extension professionals to farmers.
🌍 Global and National Context
The MOOC initiative is embedded within the broader GIZ project “Soil Protection and Rehabilitation for Food Security (ProSoil)”, active in seven countries including India. In India, ProSoil promotes agroecological practices such as climate-smart and sustainable soil management, working with over 54,000 farmers in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The success of field implementation is now being scaled through digital education and capacity building at a national level.
🎯 Project Objectives
- Develop a comprehensive, high-quality MOOC on Natural Farming for India’s agricultural education ecosystem.
- Strengthen agricultural extension systems through accessible, evidence-based digital content.
- Enable scalable outreach of proven agroecological practices to students, professionals, and farmers.
- Mainstream the scientific and field-based knowledge developed through ProSoil across institutional platforms.
📦 Project Deliverables
- Transcript Development
Collection, review, and finalization of 35+ expert session transcripts delivered by domain specialists. - Training Material Compilation
Development of comprehensive training materials for 15 different Natural Farming topics, covering theory, practices, and case studies. - Final Submission
Integration of multimedia-ready content into a structured format and submission to MANAGE and GIZ for review and implementation.
