OMAN NDC Revision
Objective : EcoCapita actively participates in the revision of Oman’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), supporting the nation’s efforts to combat climate change. This involves aligning Oman’s NDCs with the Paris Agreement’s temperature goals, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and national climate priorities, while delivering actionable recommendations to strengthen coherence, integration, and overall effectiveness.
Scope : Ecocapita assesses Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by examining their mitigation and adaptation objectives, alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and consistency with long-term net-zero targets. The evaluation will also consider the implications of international cooperation policies, coherence with national frameworks such as Oman’s Voluntary National Review (VNR), and the integration of climate and energy goals.
Activities
- NDC Assessment: Analyze goals, strategies, and measures for alignment with international and national climate targets.
- International Cooperation Analysis: Examine impacts of climate finance, technology transfer, and partnerships on achieving NDCs, with recommendations for leveraging opportunities and mitigating challenges.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Incorporate feedback from experts, civil society, and international partners to ensure a holistic and inclusive review process.
